Emojis

What a wonderful way to say something in a moment! Like a flash of light it says what you want without a lot of words. Perhaps one day I will speak in Emoji, and you will listen with your eyes and ears.

I like to use them, not just for the fun of it, but to quickly communicate something punctuating the humor, urgency, or emotion behind my voice.  The Japanese culture developed this language of ideograms and smileys using facial features, weather, common objects, places, and animals, so we can speed things up. Hopefully, accurately!

The small little pics touch a side of us words sometime miss. Why? They touch the emotions. I want to feel the “warmth” of Christmas or smile with your “humor,” or feel the “embrace of a moment” shared!

Emotions are the signals of our deeper core values; when touched, they respond.  Happy, sad, strong, weak, confident and the like.

I pray this Christmas season is preparing you for a moment of celebration! Heaven’s messengers said, “I bring you Good Tidings of Great Joy which shall be to all people”…”Peace on Earth, Good Will toward men!” The gospel is good news. Jesus is our hope and help to whatever you and I face.

Let’s find new, quick, and vibrant ways to tell the “story.”  Christmas is at the core of my beliefs.  I am emotionally charged to celebrate and proclaim!

I would like to invite you to our Candle Light Christmas Eve service –  Saturday, December 24th –  at 6:30 p.m. and our Sunday Morning Christmas Celebration at 10:15 a.m. Both services are brief and Emoji.

See you in Church!

Pastor Greg
