| …are in the “mental arena” of your life.
That’s right. I do not like to ever talk about the devil’s temporary victories in life. However, it is apparent that many Christians have been talked right out of turning the impossible, into possible. Isn’t it Jesus who said, “All things are possible to him who believes?” When asking Jesus why His disciples could not cast out the spirit from a boy brought to them, the Lord answered, “because of your unbelief.” Not leaving a one word judgement hanging in the air, Jesus says, “…Assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matt. 17:20). This is not the “silent night” the hymn writer had in mind. According to Jesus, faith needs to be spoken!
Herein is the conundrum. Focusing on how to fix, repair, or create a solution to the impossible will reason ourselves into concluding the problem or mountain is just the way it is. Faith has now become impotent. Not even accessed or brought to bear upon the situation. As the world says, “It is what it is.” Without ever realizing the subtle shift, the problem started out being God’s until the devil talked us right out of faith, and we “reasoned” it was so.
What? Why? When? The devil wins every time we enter his court of reason. He debates with us asking more unanswerable questions spinning his web, capturing us as prey, and rendering silent the voice that moves his mountains. At the conclusion of Round 1 we are not even sure God exists! Bouncing off the ropes we go back at it for another round, only now with greater doubts. Remember, his target is your head in the ring, but his goal is your heart. “Out of the heart man confesses…” Satan wants you to never say a faith filled word to the mountains in your life. As I listen, I’d say those mountains are safe.
Faith can grow! Exceedingly great faith can happen and mountains removed. Sunday begins a series of messages called, Faith in God. You really need to hear this.
